In these introductory verses, we cover the background to 1 John. Heresy in the form of Gnosticism had infiltrated the early church. John’s response to that was to “proclaim” Christ from his first-hand experience as an Apostle. An exposition of 1 John 1:1-4.

David Henke

Teacher

David Henke was born in Virginia, Minnesota. He grew up in the land of ten thousand lakes and developed a love for the outdoors. After graduating high school, David spent four years serving his country, in the United States Navy submarine fleet stationed out of Holy Loch Scotland. Once that adventure came to a close, he moved out to Nebraska to live with his sister Pamela and in 1988 he met his wife Victoria at a small church.

After meeting they moved to Idaho and wed in the fall of 1989. Together they raised five children: Hannah, Sarah, Luke, John, & Rachel. At twenty-seven years old, David became a believer. His true passion is in preaching and teaching the Word of God, he seeks to exhibit the traits of Christ in his life and further His ministry.

When you don’t find David studying, you will find him out bow hunting, hiking, golfing and spending time with his friends and family. David is grateful for the opportunity to share his passion for the word of God and further His ministry here on earth at Kootenai Community Church.
