Paul continues to encourage the Corinthians in their correct and wonderful response to the “severe letter”. Titus himself as the envoy was refreshed and comforted by the response and the fact that Paul had actually bragged (properly) to Titus that the Corinthians would repent was vindicated by Titus’s report.
